This active, busy family asked for the landscape to be an extension of the home’s Hollywood Regency style, with dramatic black and white furnishings. The existing pool was remodeled, adding a water feature and new custom-made tile by Malibu Ceramic Works. Originally the patio deck was truncated right on the backside of the pool, so we added additional usable pool deck area for seating and entertaining. The fireplace and outdoor sofas on each side mirror the materials and detailing found in the home’s architecture. We created an outdoor kitchen with open beam patio cover on an underutilized side of the house to link usable space with the main patio area.
